Mashpee River Woodlands Sanctuary

Mashpee River Woodlands Sanctuary, Mashpee, 2 acres – 1999

Mashpee River Woodlands SanctuaryOriginally donated by a realty company, this 2 acre sanctuary of oak and pine forest was dedicated to the memory of Bill Conley, a long-time friend and active member of Orenda in 1999. The property is adjacent to a large tract of Town of Mashpee conservation land. Thankfully, the property has always remained undeveloped and in its natural state, and continues to provide precious habitat in one of Massachusetts’ fasting growing towns.

Directions: From the Mashpee Rotary drive south on Great Neck Rd. South for 3/10 of a mile. Turn left onto Sandlewood. The entrance road becomes Amos Landing Road. Follow ALR to the end and park in the large turnaround area. Take the obvious path north (80’) and turn left on to Timber Landing Road. Proceed 615 feet along a dirt road. The property is on the left and marked with an Orenda wooden sign board indicating it. This 2-acre sanctuary of oak and pine forest was dedicated to the memory of Bill Conley, a long-time friend and active member of Orenda in 1999.
