Winter Wildlife Story Hour: A Huge Success!

On January 22nd, people came from across Cape Cod to participate in Orenda’s Winter Wildlife Story Hour event, which was co-hosted by and presented at the Cape Wildlife Center Center, in Barnstable, MA.

Attendees of all ages reveled in the opportunity to embrace the great outdoors and the natural beauty of the season, gathering around a roaring campfire to enjoy nature-based stories, hot chocolate and S’mores.

Light flurries provided an ideal snow-globe effect during a presentation starring the Cape Wildlife Center’s resident owls, Thor and Loki.

Orenda and the Cape Wildlife Center shared the importance of their allied missions to protect land and wildlife through ongoing educational, outreach and community-building efforts, aimed at connecting people to their natural environment, while fostering a sense of wonder and appreciation for wildlife.

This family-friendly event was the second in Orenda’s Story Hour series, with all proceeds directly supporting wildlife preservation. If you were unable to attend the event, but would like to make a donation to support our cause, you may do so here.

A very special thanks to all of the volunteers and participants who came together to make this event possible, as well as Arbortech Tree Service and Cape Sand and Recycling for supplying the stumps, which served as natural seating for our guests.

Stay tuned for details about our upcoming Spring and Summer Story Hour events…we hope you will join us!
