Participants will gather around a campfire as stories about the wintertime wanderings and habits of wildlife are read aloud by your hosts with time for discussion.
Hibernation, tracking, nesting and feeding are some of the topics that will be covered.
The books we have selected are appropriate for children of all ages, making it fun and educational event for the entire family!
Cape Wildlife Center will host a brief meet-and-greet with two of their resident owls….a rare treat! A special guided craft related to wildlife care will be distributed, and hot chocolate and s’mores will be provided. If we are lucky it will snow and we’ll have the opportunity to see some wildlife tracks!
This family-friendly event is the second in Orenda’s story hour series, aimed at connecting communities to their natural environment and fostering a sense of wonder and appreciation for wildlife. We hope you will join us!
The event fee is $5 per person, with all proceeds directly supporting wildlife preservation.
