Join us For Our May Wildlife Walk-and-Talk!
Join us for a facilitated walk-and-talk, as we discover the natural wonders of our West Barnstable sanctuaries and Barnstable’s Great Salt Marsh, which serve as a haven for many wildlife species!
This program will feature the expertise of West Barnstable resident Dr. Peter Crosson, who has been birding on Cape Cod and beyond for 20 years. Peter will illuminate facts about the bird species that live and thrive in the Great Salt Marsh sanctuaries and conservation areas, including migrating songbirds and Sparrows, which are returning to their breeding grounds here, in West Barnstable.
Orenda Wildlife Land Trust will discuss the organization’s preservation work throughout Cape Cod and our efforts to protect the threatened Diamondback Terrapins, which return year after year to nest and lay eggs at our “Turtle Garden” Sanctuary and inhabit the brackish waters of West Barnstable.
