Brewster Conservation Day: A Huge Success!

Orenda Wildlife Land Trust was honored to be a part of Brewster Conservation Day, 2022, on Saturday, July 9th at Drummer Boy Park, in Brewster, MA.

Johnny Robinson, OWLT Land Steward, welcomes visitors to BCD!

With over 600 people on site, attendees had the opportunity to visit 30 unique presentations and interactive exhibits relating to conservation and environmental protection. This year’s special exhibit, “Water Resources: We Are All a Part of the Solution!” offered an occasion to learn about our aquifer, ocean resources, coastal erosion, herring migration, whale rescue, and alternative energy.

Orenda Wildlife Land Trust presented visitors with materials and hands-on activities illustrating the work we do to protect land, wildlife and our natural resources through education and outreach.

Visitors of all ages were interested in learning about Orenda and interacting with our display!

An initiative that we are currently focusing on in West Barnstable, is our Terrapin Turtle Protection Program. This program is a wonderful opportunity for community members to get involved in volunteer work supporting our impact and mission.

We are also actively working to permanently protect undeveloped land to ensure healthy, self-sustaining ecosystems and to maintain our fish, wildlife and biodiversity resources.

If you have land you would like to see preserved and protected by Orenda, we can help you develop a land conservation plan appropriate for your needs.
